JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 22 — A company supplying frozen food was fined RM1.5 million by the Sessions Court after pleading guilty to seven charges of using, owning and offering fake halal logo after a meat cartel scandal was exposed in December 2020.
SEPANG, March 26 — The Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services Department (Maqis) seized 1,160 kilogrammes of fresh mutton imported from Australia worth RM56,614, which did not have the halal logo on the product packaging, last Wednesday.
SHAH ALAM, Jan 8 — The Selangor branch of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) seized 1.12 million packets of various brands of instant noodle, from a factory in Rawang yesterday, on suspicion of using a halal logo which is not certified by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim).
SHAH ALAM, July 2 — A murukku snack food processing premise in Kajang was raided by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) yesterday after it was found to have used a fake halal logo on its products’ packaging.
